Hot Water in Peregian Springs: Local Conditions That Change the Job

Peregian Springs is a genuinely new suburb by Sunshine Coast standards: St Andrew's Anglican College opened in 2003, the state school opened in 2010, and the local shopping centre only opened in 2019. Population growth has been dramatic, from around 3,950 residents in 2011 to over 9,500 by 2021, which means the housing stock is almost entirely detached houses built within the last two decades, many of them larger-format homes with multiple bathrooms around the suburb's 18-hole golf course.
That growth has a direct hot water consequence: a storage system specified for the household that lived there at handover is often badly undersized for the household living there now. The suburb's other defining feature is its position against bushland. In September 2019, a deliberately lit fire in bushland off Koel Circuit forced "leave now" warnings and evacuations across Peregian Springs and neighbouring Peregian Beach, with around ninety fire units responding overnight. That is a genuine, documented risk for properties near the estate's bushland and golf course boundaries.
There is no reticulated natural gas here, so gas hot water systems run on LPG bottles. RCM Hot Water sizes replacements against actual current occupancy and sites them with bushfire exposure in mind, which matters more in a growth estate like this than in an established suburb.
