Hot Water Systems Sunshine Coast: Every Area We Cover

Repairs, replacement, installation and servicing for heat pump, solar, electric, gas and continuous-flow systems, from Gympie in the north to Bribie Island in the south. Sixteen areas have their own page below, each written for its own water, gas and housing.

RCM Hot Water is based on the Sunshine Coast and works from it. There is no shopfront to visit; the job happens at your property, and the number you call is the one Richard answers, because he is the one who does the work.

The coast and the hinterland are the regular run: Noosa to Caloundra along the beaches, Cooroy to the Glass House Mountains behind them. Gympie to the north and Caboolture, Morayfield and Bribie Island to the south are extended areas, and a booking there is scheduled with a confirmed day and arrival window rather than squeezed in around local work.

This page is the map. Each area below has its own page, written for that place: whether mains gas reaches it, whether homes run on tank water, how salt air treats an outdoor unit, and what the local housing stock tends to need. Start with the nearest one, or go straight to the service you need.

The same job in every area

The town pages differ because the towns do. Gas availability, tank water, salt air and the age of the housing stock all change what gets recommended, and each page says so for its own area.

What does not change is who turns up and how the job runs. Richard does the work in Noosaville and in Morayfield alike, with the same licences, the same brands in the van and the same warranty on the invoice.

  • Three licences, one tradesperson QBCC plumbing 15045345, gas work L93578 and restricted electrical 158711, all held by the person doing the job. A job that touches plumbing, gas and the electrical connection is one visit.
  • Five system types, six brands Heat pump, solar, electric, gas and continuous flow. Rheem installed; Solahart, Thermann, Rinnai, Chromagen, Midea repaired.
  • 12-month workmanship warranty RCM covers workmanship for 12 months on systems it supplies and installs. Beyond that the unit is covered by its manufacturer's warranty, and those terms vary by brand and model, so the booklet supplied with your system is the one that governs.
  • Repair before replace If the fault is a valve, an element or a thermostat, that is what gets fixed. A new system is recommended when the old one has actually finished, and you are told why.
  • 24-hour emergency call-out, seven days One number, day or night, across the coast. Emergency attendance reaches the extended areas too; there, an early call gives the best chance of a same-day trip.
  • Quotes are free No charge for a quote and no pressure to take it. If the honest answer is a repair, that is the answer you hear first.

    Emergency replacement

I called RCM when my hot water system failed. Richard was on site to assist within a couple of hours, and the system was replaced the same day. Clear communication and excellent service. Thank you!

    Heat pump installation

    5 out of 5
Richard installed our new Rheem 270lt Sidevent heat pump water heater quickly and efficiently, and he cleaned up and took the old heater and all the packaging. The cost was extremely reasonable. We are so happy with the system. We have hot water all the time, even when we have a house full of guests, and best of all, we are saving money as the heater is so efficient, more so than solar. Highly recommend RCM, and would give it more stars if I could.

Best trades service I have had on the Sunshine Coast in 36 years. I would have no hesitation in recommending Richard and his business to anyone.

Frequently asked questions

Which areas of the Sunshine Coast do you cover?

The coast from Noosa down to Caloundra and the hinterland from Cooroy to the Glass House Mountains are the regular run. Sixteen areas have their own page above, and the full register on the Service Areas page runs to 79 suburbs. If you sit between two named places you are almost certainly covered, and a phone call settles it in about a minute.

Do you travel to Gympie, Caboolture, Morayfield and Bribie Island?

Yes, on scheduled extended-area terms. A call-out there is booked with a confirmed day and an arrival window rather than treated as same-day local work. Emergency attendance is available in all four; the earlier you call, the better the chance of a same-day trip, because the parts go in the van before it leaves. Each of the four has its own page with the detail.

Can you come the same day if my hot water has failed?

In the core Sunshine Coast suburbs, often, yes. Same-day attendance is common on the coast and in the hinterland, and the 24-hour emergency call-out runs seven days on the same number as everything else. It is never promised, because it depends on where you are and what is already booked that day. Call rather than sending a form and you will get a straight answer.

Does the coast need a different system from the hinterland?

Sometimes. Salt air near the beach is hard on outdoor units and roof-mounted collectors, so anodes, valves and casings wear faster and servicing matters more. Hinterland properties more often run on tank or bore water, which changes pressure and valve selection. Neither rules a system type out, but both shape the recommendation, and each area page says which way it usually goes there.

Do you take on commercial hot water work?

No. RCM is a domestic hot water business: houses, units and rental properties. A cafe, a gym or a motel needs a contractor who specialises in commercial systems, and we would rather say so than take a job that is not a fit. If you manage residential rentals, the property managers page explains how a job runs from your side.

How do I find the right page for my suburb?

Pick the nearest named area above. Each page describes the conditions for its part of the coast and the systems that usually suit it, and the four extended-area pages spell out how a booking there works. If nothing above is close, the Service Areas page lists every suburb on the register, grouped the same way. Whichever page you land on, the number and the terms are the same.
